  • Here I'm going to recommand two of my favourite songs from Westlife.

    You Light Up My Life

    So many nights, I'd sit by my window,
    Waiting for someone to sing me her song.
    So many dreams, I kept deep inside me,
    Alone in the dark, but now you've come along.

    And you light up my life,
    You give me hope, to carry on.
    You light up my days
    And fill my nights with song.

    Rollin' at sea, adrift on the waters
    Could it be finally, I'm turning for home
    Finally a chance to say, "Hey, I Love You"
    Never again to be all alone.

    And you light up my life,
    You give me hope, to carry on.
    You light up my days
    And fill my nights with song.

    You, you light up my life
    You give me hope to carry on
    You light up my days
    And fill my nights with song
    It can't be wrong, when it feels so right

    Cause you, you light up my life

    And I heard this song almost one year ago. Our English teacher Mr. Lai play the music video of the song and we fill in the missing words of the lyrics. You should watch it. It's so touching.

    You Raise Me Up

    When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
    When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
    Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
    Until you come and sit awhile with me.

    You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
    You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
    I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
    You raise me up... To more than I can be.

    [Instrumental break]

    You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
    You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
    I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
    You raise me up... To more than I can be.

    You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
    You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
    I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
    You raise me up... To more than I can be.

    You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
    You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
    I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
    You raise me up... To more than I can be.

    You raise me up... To more than I can be.

    We should feel lucky that we have families and friends. But we can also spread the love to those in need and give them warm and support...

    Starting from today, learning to love everyone, not only our families and friends. Your love can light up their life, raise them up, like the labour lught to lead them find the meaning of life.

  • Today I want you to listen to a song called "Just a Ride" by Jemma Griffiths. She born June 18, 1975 in Penarth, Wales, better known as Jem, is a Welsh singer-songwriter known for her eclectic musical stylings. Her debut album, Finally Woken, includes elements of rock ballads, New Wave-styled electronica and trip-hop.

    Just a Ride

    Life, it's ever so strange
    It's so full of change
    Think that you've worked it out
    Then BANG
    Right out of the blue
    Something happens to you
    To throw you off course
    And then you

    Breakdown
    Yeah you breakdown
    Well don't you breakdown
    Listen to me
    Because

    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    No need to run, no need to hide
    It'll take you round and round
    Sometimes you're up
    Sometimes you're down
    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    Don't be scared
    Don't hide your eyes
    It may feel so real inside
    But don't forget it's just a ride

    Truth, we don't wanna hear
    It's too much to take
    Don't like to feel out of control
    So we make our plans
    Ten times a day
    And when they don't go
    Our way we

    Breakdown
    Yeah we breakdown
    Well don't you breakdown
    Listen to me
    Because

    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    No need to run, no need to hide
    It'll take you round and round
    Sometimes you're up
    Sometimes you're down
    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    Don't be scared
    Don't hide your eyes
    It may feel so real inside
    But don't forget it's just a ride

    Slowly, oh so very slowly
    Except that
    There's no getting off
    So live it, just gotta go with it
    Coz this ride's, never gonna stop

    Breakdown
    Don't you breakdown
    No need to breakdown
    No need at all
    Because

    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    No need to run, no need to hide
    It'll take you all around
    Sometimes you're up
    Sometimes you're down
    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    Don't be scared now
    Dry your eyes
    It may feel so real inside
    But don't forget enjoy the ride

    I chose this song because the lyrics are exactly describe that "Life is full of change", and here's the story of Sanga Lang.

    Life, it's ever so strange
    It's so full of change

    In 1998, while Sang Lang was attempting a practice vault in a gymnastics competition in New York City, she fell and seriously injured her spine. Since then, she has been paralysed from the chest down.

    It's just a ride, it's just a ride
    No need to run, no need to hide

    Sang Lang doesn;t deel sorry for herself. After the accident, she stayed in a hospital in New York for a year. Her story has captured the hearts of Americans, and hailed her courage. Some people may give up when they face the difficulties but Sang Lang doesn't, as she says, "I won't give up."

    Don't be scared
    Don't hide your eyes

    Sang Langa is back in China and has become a celebrity and role model. She has been on television and a seires has been made about her life. She was also chosen to be a torchbearer at the 008 Olympics, and hosts her own TV show, Sanga Lang Olympics 2008 on star TV.

    So we make our plans

    She studies journalism at Peking University and still she doesn't want to miss any changes to exercise saily to regain the use of her arms.

    Although she sometimes feels anxious about the future, she prefers to be optimistic. "The support from others helps me feel better about myself," she says, "It encoursges me to keep going. I hope I can walk again, but if not I can bear it."

    Our school is a Catholic school for girls. Here's a prayer that I found from my prayer book for this topic...

    Ask For Courage

    Jesus,
    You had the courage
    to face death after you prayed in the garden
    So, like you, I prayed for the courage I need
    to face up what I'm afraid of;
    to face to my responsibilities;
    to always try my best;
    to play games and sports well;
    to stand up for my friends;
    to be alywas truthful;
    to help my enemies.
    Give courage to the sick
    so that they will not be afraid of suffering,
    and give us all the courage
    to tell our friends that we love them. Amen.

    What do you think about life?
